JOBS YOU CAN COUNT ON

Cleaning jobs we can count on

We can win this campaign - but only if cleaners like you stand together and step up by talking to other cleaners, to your school community, to the media and to politicians.

It's been just over three weeks since we found out that the government was opening up the cleaning contract tender with no jobs or hours guarantee - and that 7000 cleaning jobs were at risk.

What's been happening?

Since then, there's been A LOT going on! Cleaners, delegates and organisers have talked to thousands of cleaners about what's going on and how we're going to win this campaign - online, over the phone and at schools.

More than 1300 people have signed ISS cleaner Judith's petition telling the government that cleaners need jobs we can count on - and support is flooding in from other unions, teachers and the community.

In terms of politics - our union secretary Mel has met with a number of Labor politicians, who've offered to do what they can to support the campaign, while several politicians have publicly supported us by signing and sharing Judith's petition. And most excitingly - cleaners like yourself have started meeting with their local MPs to talk about their campaign.

What's next?

There have been so many inspiring examples of cleaners getting active in this campaign over the past few weeks - looking forward to seeing even more!
